Research consistently shows that organizations that embrace diversity perform better financially, attract top talent, and foster innovation.

This session will delve into the actionable strategies companies can adopt to address gender disparities, ensure workplace safety, and create cultures of respect and inclusivity. From practical measures to foster gender equity to addressing systemic challenges, the discussion will provide valuable insights for organizations seeking to thrive in a competitive global economy.

Speaking ahead of the session, Ellen Maynes emphasized the urgency of this conversation:

“Creating workplaces where everyone feels safe, respected, and valued is not just the right thing to do—it is a business imperative. This session will highlight how organizations in PNG can lead the way in building inclusive workplaces that unlock untapped potential and drive sustainable growth.”

Backed by The Australian and New Zealand Governments, the Meri Save Trades (“Women Know Trades”) program is supporting Papua New Guinean women to enter and excel in non-traditional roles and sectors where they have been historically underrepresented. As part of Meri Save Trades, 18 firms employing approximately 15,000 people are taking action to address barriers to women’s recruitment, promotion, and retention.

Join us as we spotlight the role of gender inclusion in shaping a stronger, more resilient Papua New Guinea. Together, let’s empower workplaces to create a brighter future for all.
