Building International Trade and Investment will again be at the forefront of discussions, when PNG’s leading investment event, PNG Investment Week, gets underway in Sydney in the coming days.

From December 6th to 11th, close to 2,000 delegates from across 20 countries will come together to discuss the opportunities on offer in the Pacific’s largest economy.

On Monday December 9th, 2024, PNG’s Minister for International Trade & Investment, Richard Maru headlines a powerful lineup to spotlight the need for PNG to build its international trade and investment, to provide a foundation for economic and social growth.

Minister Maru will be joined by Hon. Tim Ayres, Australia’s Assistant Minister for Trade, who will speak on the initiatives being taken by the Australian government to support efforts to strengthen PNG’s trade and international investment.

Also featuring in this session will be ExxonMobil PNG Ltd., Santos, Newmont Corporation PNG, as well as Mineral Resources Development Company (MRDC).

Dinesh Sivasamboo, Incoming Managing Director, ExxonMobil PNG Ltd. will speak on 10 years of success of the PNG LNG Project – the country’s largest single investment project to date.

Brett Darley, Santos Executive Vice President, Eastern Australia & Papua New Guinea will speak on 95 Years of PNG Investment: Santos – A Legacy of Growth, A Future of Reinvestment, whilst Mark Rodgers, Newmont Corporation PNG Managing Director is expected to present a reflection on 30 Years of International Investment in PNG.

Furthermore, MRDC Managing Director Augustine Mano will present on the Value of PNG Stakeholder Support to Investment Success, which is sure to be a highlight for those in attendance.
